木兰花慢 · 元宵感旧
金吾不禁夜，放箫鼓、恣游遨。被万里长风，一天星斗，吹堕层霄。御楼外香暖处，看人闲平地起仙鳌。华烛红摇醉勒，瑞烟翠惹吟袍。
老来怀抱转无聊。虚负可怜宵。遇美景良辰，诗情渐减，酒兴全消。思往事今不见，对清尊瘦损沈郎腰。惟有当时好月，照人依旧梅梢。
Golden Wu (a divine figure in Chinese mythology) did not enforce the night curfew, allowing the people to indulge in music and dance freely. Long wind blew, carrying the starry lights and making them appear as if they had fallen from the high clouds. Outside the imperial palace, at the warm and fragrant place, people watched the extraordinary spectacle of a giant mythical beast rising from the ground. The festive lights swaying from the poles were red as drunkenness set in, and auspicious clouds tinged the green of our robes.
As I grow old, my heart becomes increasingly indifferent and bored. I waste the valuable moments of such a delightful night. Despite beautiful scenery and pleasant occasions, my poetic enthusiasm has diminished, and my interest in drinking has completely vanished. Memories of past events are no longer visible, and even the sight of my favorite drink has caused me to become lean like the figment of Shen Lang waist. But the only thing that remains the same is the good old moon, shining upon my plum tree branch as it used to do.
